Position: Youth Counsellor - Bunbury
Full-time | Fixed-term contract 12 months (Parental Leave Cover) OR Permanent Contract

About the Role:
This crucial role will see you providing support to young people from the Bunbury office and local schools. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering individual and group counselling (office-based, outreach, and telehealth) to young people and their families (where appropriate).
  • Supporting the Intake team by conducting assessments and managing capacity as needed.
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of and collaborating with youth mental health resources and networks.
  • Building effective relationships with key stakeholders in health, mental health, and psychosocial services.
  • Keeping accurate client records and adhering to data collection standards.
  • Participating in clinical case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure effective service pathways.

About You:
To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification (Bachelor or higher) in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related field.
  • Registration or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA).
  • Proven experience working with young people at risk of suicide, depression, anxiety, or self-harm.
  • Strong skills in conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and providing follow-up support.
  • Experience with evidence-based clinical practices, particularly in complex mental health cases.
  • The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of young people.
  • A current 'C' Class Driver's Licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to provide outreach services (with mileage reimbursement).
