Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-term Contract
Package: Flexible base rate DOE + Super + Casual Loading + Shift Penalties + Fully covered travel and accommodation + meal allowances
Hours per Week: Minimum of 38 hours per week

About the Role
Are you a Senior Mental Health Clinician looking for a rewarding opportunity in a community-based setting? Our client, Young District Hospital, is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician - Adult with community mental health casework experience. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse with a relevant postgraduate qualification (CNS-Grade 2) or an Allied Health professional with suitable qualifications (Level 3). As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health care, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide assessments, case management, and therapeutic interventions for adults with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments, and mental state examinations.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions for adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment and recovery plans.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation to clients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and GPs to coordinate care.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with NSW Health policies and standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, service development, and mental health promotion.


Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy.
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in mental health (for Registered Nurses).
  • Demonstrated experience in community mental health casework and complex case management.
  • Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current National Police Clearance (must be within 3 years).
  • NSW Health Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Compliance with NSW Health vaccination requirements.
  • Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel within the district.
