MARS is proudly partnering with leading financial services provider of credit risk management and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders. With over 500 staff, they're a growing business that now has demand for increased headcount within their financial analysis function, specifically with the risk space.
This is an initial 6-month contract with the potential to go permanent and would be best suited to a Big 4 or Mid-Tier first mover looking to utilise their audit experience in a value adding role.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk Assessments, you will play a key role in preparing comprehensive Financial Viability Assessments (FVAs) for a diverse client base. This position involves analysing financial data, evaluating risks, and delivering concise executive summaries that highlight key financial strengths and vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will collaborate directly with clients, building strong relationships, presenting your findings, and providing strategic recommendations to mitigate risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial information, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Develop executive summaries that highlight key financial strengths and weaknesses for FVA clients.
- Drive enhancements in the quality and clarity of financial reports and FVAs.
- Support clients by simplifying complex financial data and providing actionable risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with team members to review, critique, and refine FVAs for accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain the integrity and timeliness of financial data across all reports and systems.
Requirements:
- Degree educated with CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
- Ideally from a Big 4 or Mid-Tier firm in an audit, deals or advisory function.
- Proven experience in analysing company financials including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements.
- Confident with accounting standards, financial reporting, and financial ratios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in drafting reports.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, driven and proactive in your approach.
- Experience in client-facing roles and explaining financial outcomes.
To Note:
- They offer flexible work arrangements, with occasional need to visit the Canberra office (1x a month)
