ED Registered Nurse - (Contract Position)

Package: Flexible base rate DOE + Super + Casual Loading + Shift Penalties + Fully covered travel and accommodation + Meal allowances

About the Role
Are you a Registered Nurse with Emergency, Acute, and Aged Care experience, looking for a rewarding contract opportunity in a rural healthcare setting?
Our client in Lake Cargelligo, NSW is seeking a versatile Registered Nurse to join their team. This role requires Triage training and the ability to work across Emergency, Acute, and Aged Care wards, as well as taking on In-Charge responsibilities when required. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your clinical experience in a supportive rural hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in Emergency, Acute, and Aged Care settings.
• Perform triage assessments using the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS) to determine patient priority.
• Act as the In-Charge Nurse, overseeing patient flow, staff coordination, and clinical decision-making.
• Deliver emergency interventions, including airway management, advanced life support, and wound care.
• Monitor and manage deteriorating patients, escalating care when necessary.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and pain management as per hospital guidelines.
• Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, catheterisation, plastering, and wound dressings.
• Provide comprehensive care to aged care residents, ensuring comfort and adherence to best practices.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, allied health professionals, and paramedics.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with NSW Health policies.
• Support, mentor, and guide junior nursing staff and enrolled nurses.

Essential Criteria

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Emergency, Acute, or Aged Care nursing.
• Triage certificate and experience in performing independent triage assessments.
• Previous experience in an In-Charge role.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and support a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Current or eligible for NSW Health Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• National Police Clearance (Must be within 3 years).
