Occupational Therapist / Senior Occupational Therapist

Our client is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist and a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their team at their clinic in Bedford or Swan Valley.

Senior Occupational Therapist-
In this role, you will not only manage a small caseload but also provide clinical supervision and guidance to ensure the highest quality of service delivery. Collaboration with other allied health professionals is key, as you'll work closely with psychologists, speech pathologists, and the rest of the team to provide holistic care to young clients and their families. You will lead and support a team of talented OT's and help them grow and develop their skills and knowledge. This role requires a minimum of 5 years experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy, with a background in mentoring others.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of occupational therapists, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Conduct assessments and create individualised treatment plans tailored to the needs of children and adolescents.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to a diverse pediatric client base.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, speech pathologists, and other health professionals to deliver integrated care.
  • Work alongside the Principal Psychologist and Senior Speech Pathologist to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Mentor and support occupational therapists in their professional development.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting.

Occupational Therapist-
In this role you'll work as part of a Multidisciplinary team, providing your services to a paediatric caseload based within the clinic. You will receive supervision and support from the Senior OT and wider MDT to help you grow and develop your skills and knowldge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's motor, sensory, cognitive, and social-emotional development using standardised tools.
  • Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessments, setting measurable goals in collaboration with families and other healthcare providers.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and social participation using play-based activities.
  • Educate and support families on therapeutic strategies and exercises to reinforce their child's development at home.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to care, participating in team meetings and coordinating care plans.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on ongoing evaluations and family feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and communications.
  • Assist with transitions and integration into different settings, providing recommendations for adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and new techniques in paediatric occupational therapy.
  • Contribute to practice development through marketing, outreach, and assisting in the creation of new programs or services.


About You:

  • Accredited tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy in Australia.
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in Occupational Therapy.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
  • A Working with Children Card & NDIS Worker Screening Check.
