MARS Recruitment is looking for a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner for a locum role in Deniliquin, NSW. This position offers the opportunity to make a difference in a rural setting, providing essential healthcare services in a facility that serves a diverse patient population.

Role Overview

As a Locum Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver advanced clinical care across a range of healthcare services, working independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. This regional facility provides a comprehensive suite of services, including a 24/7 Emergency Department, general medical and surgical care, palliative care, and post-acute rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

In this locum role, your primary duties will include:

• Conduct detailed physical examinations, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop care plans for patients across the lifespan.
• Prescribe medications and manage pharmacotherapy, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring for potential side effects or contraindications.
• Deliver ongoing support to patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses, aiming to improve long-term health outcomes.
• Provide timely care in urgent and emergent situations, stabilising patients and coordinating transfer when required.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and external organisations to ensure cohesive and holistic patient care.
• Empower patients and families with information on health conditions, treatments, and lifestyle modifications to enhance wellness and compliance.

Location and Facility Details

Deniliquin is conveniently located within driving distance to several regional hubs:

• 45 minutes from Echuca
• 2 hours from Albury
• 4 hours from Melbourne

This facility serves a close-knit community, and your role will be vital to enhancing the health and wellbeing of its residents.

Position Details

• Rate: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour + Super (based on experience)
• Bonus: Up to $1,000 Christmas agency bonus for contracts over the holiday period
• Accommodation: Provided by the facility
• Travel: Reimbursed per KM if driving / Bus or Flights booked directly
• Schedule: 38 hours per week, with the option for additional hours at casual rates

Eligibility Requirements

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Full working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship available)
• Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain)
• Minimum 3 years postgraduate experience in an advanced practice role
• Driver's License and car (case-by-case exceptions can be made)
