Exciting opportunity for a senior clinician to take up a 12-week contract in Alice Springs

Nurse/Midwife Coordinator - Police Watch House | Alice Springs

MARS Recruitment, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse/Midwife Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

About the Role


As the Nurse/Midwife Manager, you will:

  • Provide expert professional advice on assessment, planning, review, and coordination of service delivery in a custodial setting.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based Primary Health Care to clients in custody.
  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring excellence in care delivery and a safe, responsive, and kind environment.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership and role modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with NT legislation governing custodial health care practices.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee various resources to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor and support staff
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical and leadership skills to deliver high-quality care.
  • Promote effective communication and teamwork across all levels.
  • Uphold organisations values of safety, responsiveness, and kindness in all interactions.

    • Key Skills and Experience


  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and management skills to support decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Proven experience in operational planning and resource management.
  • Ability to adapt work practices to meet the needs of healthcare consumers and staff.
  • Effective communication skills to build productive relationships and manage conflict.
  • Understanding of social and cultural sensitivities influencing health care in the NT.


    • Desirable:

    • Postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty area.


    Additional Requirements:

    • Experience driving a manual vehicle
