MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading property investment company to recruit an experienced Fund & Group Accountant. In this key role, you will manage fund accounting and group consolidations, ensuring statutory compliance and supporting overall financial performance. Key responsibilities include overseeing the management and reporting of multiple property and investment funds, preparing accurate group financial reports including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheet consolidation, and producing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the group. You will also be responsible for tax compliance and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the fund sector, with excellent technical accounting skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accurate maintenance of the general ledger.
• Manage financial operations and reporting for various property and investment funds.
• Prepare and maintain unit pricing across different funds.
• Generate fund-level financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor fund cash flow, distributions, and performance metrics, providing timely updates to investors.
• Oversee investor contributions, distributions, and related reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the group.
• Ensure timely and accurate group financial reports, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheet consolidation.
• Conduct variance analysis on consolidated financials and offer insightful recommendations to senior management.
• Prepare and submit BAS, PAYG, FBT, and GST returns.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (AASB) and other statutory obligations.

Criteria:

• 5+ years of experience in fund accounting or property investment management
• CA/CPA/ACCA qualified
• Experience in financial reporting for investment funds, trusts, and group entities
• Prior experience with property accounting software (MRI)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• Strong technical accounting expertise
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
• Energetic, perceptive, and self-motivated
