MARS Recruitment is partnering with a reputable fintech company to recruit a Financial Accountant for a 3-month fixed-term contract with the potential to transition to a permanent role. This is an exciting opportunity to join their exceptional team and gain broad exposure across the finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for the completion of the month-end process, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting, and the end-to-end finance function. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role offers the opportunity to support the CFO on key strategic projects, including capital raising, treasury management, system implementation, budgeting and cash flow forecasting, business case modelling, and financial reporting. You will also contribute to projects such as profitability analysis for new products and gain exposure to treasury functions.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance professional with experience in banking or financial services to join a dynamic finance team and work closely with senior management across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and regular cash flow reports
• Support the preparation of monthly Board reports
• Prepare APRA regulatory reports
• Assist in the preparation of management and Board reports and financial papers
• Produce daily liquidity reports and cash flow projections to monitor the bank's liquidity position
• Manage the end-to-end settlement process for all treasury transactions
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely and orderly completion of audits
• Contribute to the development of the five-year business plan, including financial modelling
• Assist in preparing capital raising documents, including investor materials

Criteria:

• 2-3 years' post-qualification experience
• Experience in financial services preferred; banking experience an advantage
• CA, CPA, or ACCA qualified
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• Advanced Excel skills
• Self-motivated individual
• Thrives in a start-up environment with opportunities for broad-ranging experience
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
