Our client is a well known professional services organisation located in Brisbane with offices across Australia, they are seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Officer to join their business in a permanent basis to support their highly experienced Risk & Compliance Manager in implementing policies and best practices across the whole organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain the practice's Quality Management System (QMS) certification under ISO 9001:2015
• Maintain the practice's policies and procedures in consultation with the relevant Shared Services teams and Practice Groups
• Observe internal processes and procedures, evaluate their effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
• Manage all non-conformities
• Carry out internal audits
• Working with the business to review compliance obligations and identify and remediate control gaps.
• Assisting the business to identify risks, including identification of risk causes, controls and development of action plans to address control gaps.
• Assist with the validation of risk and compliance incidents.
• Help with the response to business resilience.
• Help the business with the respone modern slavery

What we are looking for:

• The position interacts with all levels of stakeholder in the business and is expected to function with autonomy.
• Experience in a quality management or auditing role and understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Understanding of risk management principles
• Experienced in conducting internal audits and developing audit processes
• Ability to work autonomously and the capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Experience in the legal industry preferred but not necessary
