Finance Manager

Are you an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial reporting and payroll? This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, multi-entity business and take ownership of its finance and payroll operations in this hands-on role.

The Role:

As the Finance Manager, you'll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, payroll processing and transactional finance, while driving process improvements. Working closely with senior management, you'll provide strategic insights and ensure the smooth operation of finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial & Management Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare management reports, including financial trend analysis, profitability analysis by business segment, and forecasting projections.
  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growth.

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee payroll processing for 150-250 permanent and casual employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awards and tax regulations.
  • Manage offshore payroll approvals and ensure timely payments.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, and ATO reporting requirements.
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes impacting payroll operations.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage processing of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Liaise with creditors, debtors, and clients to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Oversee invoicing, outstanding debtor follow-ups, and collections.

About You:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' experience in finance and payroll management.
  • Strong knowledge of Xero (essential) and experience with Employment Hero Payroll (advantageous).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Australian taxation, payroll, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements and drive efficiency.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

To Note:

  • Must have experience with financial reporting and payroll processing.
  • Only candidates with Xero experience will be considered for this role.
  • They operate in their Marrickville office 4 days a week and have free parking on-site.
  • Must have full working rights in Australia.
  • Shorter notice periods are highly preferred.
