Senior Auditor

Opportunity for a capable CA qualified Auditor to join a well-known firm that boast a great culture and diverse client base to manage.

MARS are partnering with a renowned and reputable mid-tier accounting firm that have a long standing and established presence in the Australian market. They're looking to hire a driven, personable and capable individual to join their team as a Senior Auditor.

Overview:

As a Senior Auditor, you will play a crucial role in leading audit engagements and ensuring the delivery of high quality audit services to the clients. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalising audits, as well as providing valuable insights to help clients enhance their financial reporting and internal controls.

The Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit engagements, ensuring quality and compliance with firm standards.
  • Manage client relationships and prepare budgets and cash flows.
  • Evaluate clients' internal controls and prepare audit programs.
  • Review financial statements, tax returns, and documentation for accuracy and adequacy.
  • Suggest tax planning strategies and break down complex tax returns for staff accountants.
  • Summarise engagements, draft reports, and manage routine client correspondence.
  • Coordinate the review process and resolve auditing and accounting issues.
  • Keep team members informed of engagement progress and consult on problem areas.
  • Oversee billing processes and manage weekly workflow for intermediate accountants.
  • Provide guidance and development opportunities for intermediate accountants.
  • Participate in manager and team meetings, ensuring all correspondence and advice are properly documented and approved by the engagement director.

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Must hold a CA qualification with a minimum of 3 years of audit experience, preferably in a top 30 firm.
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and senior management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit sofware - CaseWare is advantageous

  • They operate in their CBD office and offer flexible work from home following probation.
  • Only candidates with experience in audit within a chartered firm will be considered for this role.
