Senior Auditor

Opportunity for an ambitious, Big 4/Mid-Tier trained Auditor to join a high performing top 10 accounting firm, with a vibrant and progressive culture.

MARS are partnering with a top 10 professional accounting firm, that's looking to hire a Senior Auditor to join their growing Business Advisory & Assurance division, due to business growth. The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including ASX-listed companies.

Overview:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to play a key role in delivering audit and assurance services within a dynamic team. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting standards and the audit process. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of high-quality audit work, including planning, correspondence, documentation, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow audit planning memos and programs with precision.
  • Develop and execute audit plans.
  • Conduct financial and compliance audit fieldwork, including interim and final testing.
  • Prepare clear and concise work papers in line with audit methodology.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and basic tax computations.
  • Draft technical memos for review by managers and partners.
  • Provide regular feedback to staff during and after assignments.
  • Liaise with clients and managers to ensure timely job completion and reviews.

Requirements:

  • University educated and CA Qualified with strong academic performance.
  • 3-4+ years in an audit function within a Big 4 or Mid-Tier Chartered Firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and tax, with a comprehensive understanding of the audit process and risk assessment.
  • Proven capability to prepare work papers according to firm and divisional standards and to train junior staff in these procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks effectively to junior staff.
  • Previous experience with Private, Not-For-Profit, Charities, and Government clients is highly desirable.
